Sheetz Family Reunion

We were home from our Pacific Northwest travels only a few days before heading out to Stockton, Illinois for Seth's family reunion. It is so beautiful up there where he spent so many summers on his grandparents farm. We hadn't been to a reunion or seen some of those relatives for 7 years (the year before we were married. Seth knew he had to marry me since I was in the family pictures!). People traveled from places as far away as New York and Germany. It was a good time but very short for us since Seth had to be back for church Sunday.

We filled a local restaurant the last night. You would think with all the pictures being taken we could have come up with some better ones! Below we enjoy a hayrack ride (as do cousin Zak and his lovely girlfriend Christina) and Amelia's first swim. Amelia was very tired and didn't seem to react to the pool. All 3 of us were tired from being up half the night! She finally got sick of the traveling lifestyle and was very difficult. It also may have been the Dr. Pepper I had at lunch or perhaps the tooth she cut upon returning home. Cousin Will is in the pool with Sarah and Drae. In the bottom picture Amelia is meeting her great great Aunt Etha. Kelby and Chuck are in the background.

So was that before or after great great aunt Etha chaired the family board meeting?
I love how we Moms always try to find a reason for their crankiness. We get so creative just so we have an excuse for our maternal coddling.

Isn't that room funny? They took us to this meeting room in the nursing home. We sat down and while we were waiting our niece asked, "when are they going to bring our old person out?"

Oh, those are cute pictures! Was it Fia that said that about bringing out the old person? That is absolutely hilarious!
